Hallie Buttenwieser began competing at the age of eight.  Early in her career she competed in the pony hunters, and eventually moved up through the ranks to the junior hunters and junior jumpers. She learned from some of the most respected names in the sport, training with grand prix jumper rider Darragh Kerins, renowned hunter rider Louise Serio, and top equitation trainer Valerie Renihan.

While studying at university, Hallie apprenticed at Double H Farm. After graduating from Trinity College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, she accepted a full-time position as a rider and employee for Hunter Harrison of Double H Farm. She gained valuable experience working with young horses, sales horses, and international show jumpers. During her time there, Hallie competed up through the 1.50m level and had the privilege of training with top show jumping riders such as Quentin Judge, Mclain Ward, Rodrigo Pessoa, Norman Dello Joio, Michelle Grubb, and Ian and Jonathon Millar.

During the many years spent working at Double H, Hallie had the opportunity to ride at Ashford Farm in Belgium, one of Europe’s most well-respected show jumping barns. Training under Enda Carroll, she gained a deeper knowledge of international sales and competition.
